Dell xps m1530 battery problem
dell xps m1530 battery not charging
I’m having a problem with my m1530. The battery is currently not charging but on ac power the laptop works fine. When I check the
bios it says that my ac adapter is unknown. I contacted dell and they told me to check the connections on the ac adapter and the
battery which I did and all seem fine. They sent me a new ac adapter and I still have the same problem. Also i changed my os from
vista to xp using the tutorial on this website and was wondering could this be the cause of the problem. Any help would be really
appreciated as I’ve been trying to fix this for ages
I personally think Dell has a battery quality issue regarding the XPS m1530. Seems a lot of people are having issues with their
battery around the 1 year mark. Well at least by what I see on this forum. My 9 cell battery went out on my m1530 showing the same
symptoms most people report just after one year

my battery charges to 51% and no more… i tried everything i’ve seen on the net except updating my bios cause i have a09 version
which seems to have least issues with charging m1530).. battery won’t charge when lap is of nor in bios…in vista it gives the
famous “plugged in,not charging” message.. but..if i drain the battery to lets say 25% it charges back to 51%..if i drain it more
it charges up to 49% and i have to unplug and plug ac adapter then it charges back to 51 %…
i’ve tested battery health by pressing it…it lights up 5 leds(while holding) which seems to be the sign of a bad battery..
so my question is , i bought the lap 8 months ago, it drained pretty fast if its the battery
Dell xps m1530 battery is same with m1530 ?
the m1330 batteryand the m1530 is not the same batteries?

6 cell Dell xps m1530 Battery last more than 2hours
I get close to 3 hours with mine on the 6 cell. Brightness set to 2 notches lower than max. WIFI enabled, Bluetooth disabled. Web
browsing, writing emails and working on remote systems using citrix.
With the 6-cell I get around 2.5 hours on max brightness, wifi enabled, bluetooth enabled. Doing word processing, emails, web
browsing.
On the 9-cell I get around 3.75 hours on max brightness, wifi enabled, bluetoon enabled. Doing word processing, emails, web
browsing.
